Troubleshooting
Controller not tracking
Make sure your controller is properly mounted and the headset can see it. Check battery levels and try recalibrating in the app.
App won't launch
Ensure your Quest headset is updated to the latest firmware. Try restarting the headset and reinstalling CricketX from the Meta Store.
Performance issues
Clear your play space of obstacles. Ensure adequate lighting and that the headset sensors are clean. Restart the headset if lag persists.
Subscription or billing issues
Check your payment method is up to date in your billing settings. If CricketX Pro features are not unlocking in-game, sign out and back in inside the VR app. Still stuck? Email us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about CricketX, the smart bats, and subscriptions.
How do I set up VR cricket at home?
You need a Meta Quest headset (Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3s, or Quest Pro) and the CricketX app. Clear a play area of at least 2 m × 2 m, set up the Quest Guardian boundary, install CricketX from the Meta Quest Store, and run the in-app calibration. If you are using a smart bat, mount the controller in the handle before calibrating. The whole setup takes around 30 minutes from unboxing to your first delivery. See our full step-by-step VR cricket setup guide for detailed instructions.
How do you play VR cricket on Meta Quest?
Put on your Meta Quest headset and open CricketX from the App Library. Choose a training mode or match scenario, pick your bowler type (pace, spin, swing), and face up. The Quest controllers track your bat swing — or you can mount the controller in a CricketX smart bat for authentic bat feel. After each session, review your shot maps and pitch maps in the app. The base game is a $20 one-time purchase on the Meta Quest Store.
What do I need to play CricketX?
A Meta Quest headset (Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3s, or Quest Pro) and the CricketX app from the Meta Quest Store. No PC, no cables, no external sensors — everything runs standalone on the headset. The smart bat is optional; the Quest controllers work perfectly well out of the box.
How do I install CricketX on Meta Quest?
Open the Meta Quest Store on your headset or the Meta Quest mobile app. Search for "CricketX", purchase for $20, and it installs automatically. On your next session, load it from your App Library.
Can I play CricketX on Meta Quest 2?
Yes. CricketX is fully compatible with Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3s, and Quest Pro. Quest 2 is the most affordable entry point and the game runs well on it. Quest 3 and 3s offer sharper visuals and improved controller tracking if you want to upgrade.
How does the CricketX smart bat work?
The CricketX bat has an integrated mount in the handle that holds your Meta Quest controller securely. The controller handles all tracking — there are no batteries, sensors, or electronics in the bat itself. Slot in the controller, run the in-app calibration, and the bat position is reflected one-to-one in the game.
Which CricketX bat should I buy?
The Classic Lite ($80) is the most popular starting point — full bat shape, lighter profile, ships immediately. The Classic ($120) is the full-weight willow option for maximum match realism. The Precision and Precision Lite are 3D-printed alternatives for players who prefer a different weight-balance. Compare them in detail at cricketx.net/bats/compare.
Do I need a bat to play CricketX?
No. CricketX works with your Meta Quest controllers out of the box. The smart bat adds authentic cricket bat feel and weight but the core training experience — deliveries, analytics, match modes — is fully available without one.
What countries do you ship bats to?
We currently ship to the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Canada, and Australia at flat rates. For other regions, contact us at CricketX@xrevstudio.com or ask on the Discord — we can usually arrange something.
What is CricketX Pro and do I need it?
CricketX Pro is an optional subscription that adds Analysis Mode, Special Deliveries, and Legendary Match recreations on top of the base game. The base game is complete on its own, and the current Pro rates are always shown live on the pricing page.
Can I cancel CricketX Pro at any time?
Yes. Cancel in one click from your Account → Subscription page. You keep all Pro features until the end of your paid period and your profile and stats are untouched. Re-subscribe any time — nothing is lost.
I subscribed to CricketX Pro but the features are not unlocking in the app.
Sign out of the CricketX app inside your headset and sign back in with your cricketx.net account. If the features still are not showing, check that the same email is used on both the website and the in-app account, then email CricketX@xrevstudio.com with your order reference.
The controller is not tracking properly inside the game.
Check that the controller is seated correctly in the bat mount and that the headset cameras have a clear view of the controller. Clean the headset sensors if dirty. Try running the in-app bat calibration again. If the issue persists across sessions, restart the headset and reinstall CricketX.
CricketX crashes or will not launch.
Make sure your Quest headset firmware is on the latest version (Settings → About on the headset). Try a full headset restart. If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall CricketX from the Meta Store — your account progress is saved server-side and will not be lost.
Key terms
- Meta Quest
- A family of standalone VR headsets from Meta (formerly Oculus). Models include Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3s, and Quest Pro. "Standalone" means no PC or console is required — all processing runs on the headset itself. CricketX VR runs natively on all four models.
- CricketX VR
- A cricket batting training application for Meta Quest. It generates AI bowlers with customisable pace, spin, swing, line, and length, and provides real-time 3D shot analytics. The app includes multiple game modes: open batting nets, T20/ODI/Test match chase modes, and Faceoff match simulation. Available on the Meta Quest Store for $20.
- CricketX smart bat
- A real cricket bat — willow or 3D-printed — with a purpose-built mount in the handle that holds a Meta Quest controller. The controller tracks all motion. The bat itself has no batteries, sensors, or electronics. Available models: Classic Lite ($80, shipping now), Classic ($120), Precision ($80), Precision Lite ($60). Shipping to UK, Pakistan, Canada, and Australia.
- CricketX Pro
- An optional subscription that adds Analysis Mode (post-match batting review), Special Deliveries (signature bowling styles), and Legendary Match recreations. The base game is complete without it. Current rates are shown live on the pricing page, and you can cancel from /account/subscription at any time.
- controller mount
- The integrated recess or cradle built into the CricketX bat handle that holds the Meta Quest Touch controller. It keeps the controller flush and stationary during full-speed swings so tracking accuracy is maintained.
